Zoo and Aquarium – There are plenty of ways to spend your time at the Suzanne and Walter Scott Aquarium. The aquarium offers unique exhibits and backstage experiences. African Grasslands – Completed in 2016, the Suzanne and Walter Scott African Grasslands project is the largest construction project in the zoo’s history. The project was completed in phases, with the first phase focusing on habitats for the African grasslands’ animals. The second phase of construction will include game management headquarters. Aside from the zoo’s main building, the aquarium will also have several exhibits relating to African wildlife.
Joslyn Museum – The Joslyn Museum was built in the late 1920s and opened in 1931. Sarah Joslyn donated the museum to the city to commemorate her husband George Joslyn. The Joslyn Museum features an impressive collection of Greek pottery and 18th century art. There’s also a sculpture garden and decorative panels made from 38 different marble types. Moreover, the Joslyn Museum is one of Nebraska’s largest art museums.
Children’s Museum – This children’s museum offers a hands-on learning experience in a relaxing and beautiful setting. There are indoor and outdoor exhibits, focusing on a variety of topics, including art, science, and nature. The museum also features an interactive fountain area called Sandy’s Splish Splash Garden, where children can cool off in the summer. There’s also an “Imagination Playground” to stimulate the creativity of little ones.
