Leverage your podcast with Instagram Reels!

With more than 2 billion monthly active users, Instagram definitely shouldn’t be ignored. The platform can be useful for spreading awareness about your podcast and building a following.

Instagram Reels is meant to be an answer to TikTok and allows users to post short-form video content. If done right, posting clips on Instagram Reels can be a great way to reach more people with your podcast and give them a taste of what it has to offer.

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to create and upload podcast clips for Instagram Reels.

Start With an Audio Clip

The first step to creating Instagram Reels for your business podcast is to cut out some specific clips from an episode. You’ll need to go into an audio editor and pick out the specific parts that you want to share, so be sure that they’re interesting and engaging.

While Instagram now allows for longer reels than it once did, it’s still best to keep your clips fairly short. Aim to make an individual clip between 15 and 60 seconds long if you want it to be effective.

Add Visuals

Once you have some clips from your podcast, you’ll need to add some visuals to make it more interesting.

You should use a video editor to combine a still image or an interesting video clip with your podcast clip. Your video will be much more effective if it looks interesting visually rather than if it just shows the name of your podcast or a blank screen.

Once you’ve created a clip that features both audio and video, you can then export the file.

Adjust Your Clip

Once you’ve exported a video file, you can then start uploading your clip to Instagram.

To do this, you’ll need to open the app, click on the ‘+’ icon, and then click ‘Reel’. You’ll then need to follow the steps to select your clip and start the process.

When editing your video on Instagram, you can make various adjustments. You may want to add stickers or text, captions, filters, effects, and tags. Also, be sure to write a great description and tag any Instagram users who are in the clip.

Complete the Upload

Once you’re satisfied with all of the effects and stickers you’ve added to your video clip, you then need to complete the upload. Click on “Share” and then once the upload is complete, Instagram users will start seeing it.

To get a little extra traction for your video, you may also want to share it on Instagram Stories or elsewhere on the web.

Using Instagram Reels to Share Podcast Clips

If you have a podcast that you want to promote, using Instagram Reels can be a great way to do it. Be sure to post new clips as you release more episodes and continue using Instagram Reels more as time goes on.
