Fun-Plex Waterpark & Rides
It’s hard to believe, but Omaha is home to one of the most underrated amusement parks in the country! Located right outside of downtown, known as Fun-Plex, this waterpark & rides has something for everyone. Fun-Plex is a family-friendly theme park that offers over 25 roller coasters, water rides, and interactive activities. The rides are varied enough to keep everyone happy; from single rider wooden coasters like Sunset Scream and Race Car Extreme to multi-passenger steel roller coasters such as Red Line Chaos. They even offer a family fun zone where parents can take their kids on a ride before picking them up again for the next adventure. You won’t find any other theme park quite like Fun-Plex – it might not have the same amount of roller coasters or water attractions as Cedar Point or Gulliver’s Kingdom (although that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty!), but you won’t find anywhere else quite like it either!
Fun-Plex is a waterpark with a difference. Located right outside of downtown, it offers a family-friendly experience unlike any other amusement park in the country. It’s designed around interactivity with kids, so there are numerous kid-friendly rides and activities, as well as family-friendly food and drink options. Clubs, bars, and restaurants line the entire park, making it easy for families to meet, mingle, and party together. There are even pre- and post-ride programs at every park at Fun-Plex, which are particularly fun for kids, but are a must for grownups and kids alike.
Fun-Plex is located just a short drive south of Omaha on US 36, and it’s easily accessible by car or public transportation. However, visitors are encouraged to park at the Community Park Garage and ride the Fun-Plex Shuttle, which runs every 30-45 minutes during the day and every hour at night. The shuttles operate on an exclusive “fan” system where riders board the shuttle directly behind a driver, so there are no passengers on the vehicle itself. Rides at Fun-Plex cost $32.75 for adults, $23.50 for kids 5-12, and $13.25 for kids under 5. Rides are $19.25 for seniors (65+), students (age 18+ with valid ID), and veterans (DD-214 or equivalent). Children under 5 ride free with a paying adult.
Fun-Plex is a family-friendly amusement park located in eastern Omaha, Nebraska. Founded in 1977 by four friends from Germany and Austria, Fun-Plex grew quickly and soon attracted families from all over the world. Today, Fun-Plex offers over 25 roller coasters, water rides, and interactive activities for guests of all ages. The waterpark features a wave pool, lazy river, wave pool, lazy river, and more. There are also several family-friendly restaurants and snack bars, as well as a petting zoo filled with everything from stingrays to alpacas to chickens. Fun-Plex also hosts two major annual events – Easter and Halloween. Everything is open from spring through fall, with Easter and Halloween being the most popular seasonally attended attractions.
